Eligible Criteria for GAIL India Limited General Duty Medical Officer Recruitment 2015

1. Educational Qualification:- MCI recognized Graduate Degree (MBBS) with 1 (one) year post intern-ship experience in Surgery/General Medicine in a reputed /dedicated hospital/Nursing Home and certificate or Diploma in Industrial Health as prescribed under Gujarat Factories Rules, 1963.

2. Engagement as General Duty Medical Officer is temporary and purely on contract basis. Initial period of engagement shall be for 12 months. Based on the performance, period of engagement can be extended further on yearly basis. The maximum period of contractual engagement shall not exceed 36 months.

3. In addition to consolidated monthly fee, following shall also be admissible – 1. Yearly increase of Rs. 1,050/- per month. 2. Rs. 1,000/- per month will be paid as OPD expenses. 3. Family floater cover of Rs. 5 lakhs for indoor treatment in respect of self, spouse and two immediate dependence i.e. children and / or parents. 4. Personal Accident Policy for an amount of Rs. 12 lakhs to cover any eventuality including disability and medical treatment theretofore. 5. TA/DA is also payable in case duty requires travelling or deputed for field duty to other locations. 6. 12 Casual Leave and 12 Paid Leave will be provided in a calendar year on pro-rata basis i.e. 01 CL & 01 Paid Leave. Compensatory off will we provided for attending extra duty. Paid leave can be accumulated or carried forward.

Other Terms & Conditions of Engagement:-

1. Candidates having experience in an industrial environment will be given preference. Contract tenure will commence from the date of joining. Selected candidates will have to sign a contract with GAIL for the above engagement as per Annexure – I given below.

2. The short listed candidates shall be called for an interview at GAIL Jhabua for which No TA/DA shall be paid. The decision of GAIL interview boards shall be final & binding in all respect.

3. Notice period of 30 days would be required to be given from either side for termination of contractual engagement if terminated prior to stipulated tenure period.

4. Selected candidate will not have any right whatsoever to claim for regular appointment in GAIL by virtue of working as a Contract Medical Officer.

5. Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the essential eligibility criteria prescribed for the post for which they have applied. In case it is found at any stage of the selection process or even after appointment that the candidate has furnished false or incorrect information or suppressed any relevant information/material facts or does not fulfill the essential eligibility criteria, his/her candidature/agreement/ services are liable for rejection/termination without notice.

6. Candidates employed in Govt./Semi-Govt./PSU/Nationalised Bank/Autonomous Bodies shall be required to apply through proper channel. However, in the event of difficulty/inconvenience, they may send the application directly and produce the relieving order from their organization in the event of selection.

7. GAIL reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge the recruitment process, if the need so arises, without assigning any further notice or reason therefore.

Upper Age Limit And Age Relaxation

1. The Upper Age Limit for the post of Deputy Manager (Medical Service-Specialist in Medicine) & Deputy Manager (Medical Services-Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology) is 36 years & for the post of Senior Officer (F&A) the Upper Age Limit is 30 years as given in Table-I. Further, upper age limit for all posts as mentioned in Table – I above is as on 16.03.2015. The upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ ST candidates, 03 years for OBC (Non‐Creamy Layer) candidates. It is also relaxable by 05 years for PWD‐General, 08 years for PWD‐OBC (NCL) and 10 years for PWD‐SC/ ST candidates. The above relaxation in upper age limit is applicable only in respect of posts which are reserved for SC/ ST/ O BC (NCL) candidates. SC/ ST/ OBC (NCL) candidates applying against unreserved (UR) posts shall be considered under general standard of merit and no relaxation in upper age limit shall be available to them.

2.The Upper Age Limit for the post of Officer (Security) is 48 years for OBC(NCL) candidates and 53 years for OBC (NCL)–PWD candidates. Since these posts are reserved for only OBC (NCL) candidates, candidates belonging to other categories (i.e., General, SC & ST) are not eligible to apply for the posts of Officer (Security). The upper age limit for the posts of Officer(Security)is as on 16.03.2015.

3.In case of Ex-servicemen who have put in not less than six months continuous service in the Armed Forces of the Union, they shall be allowed to deduct the period of such service from their actual age, and if the resultant age does not exceed by more than 03 years the maximum age limit prescribed for the posts/ services for which a candidate seeks appointment, he/ she be deemed to satisfy the conditions regarding the age limit. 4.The upper age limit is also relaxable by 05 years for candidates domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989.

5.Maximum upper age limit shall be restricted at 55 years including all possible age relaxations.

Pay Band :-
1.Selected Eligible candidates for the post of Deputy Manager (Medical Services-Specialist in Obstetrics & Gynecology) and Deputy Manager (Medical Services-Specialist in Medicine) will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.29,100 – 54,500/- (E-3 Grade) at the Basic Pay of Rs.29,100/- with one year probation in E-3 Grade, selected candidates for the post of Senior Officer (F&A) will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.24,900 – 50,500/- (E-2 Grade) at the Basic Pay of Rs.25,650/- with one year probation in E-2 Grade & selected candidates for the post of Officer (Security) will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.20,600 – 46,500/- (E-1 Grade) at the Basic Pay of Rs.20,600/- with one year probation in E-1 Grade.

Belonging to General & OBC category candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/- by Demand Draft / pay Order drawn in favour of GAIL (India) Limited payable at New Delhi. The Application once made will not be allowed to be withdrawn and the fee once paid will not be refunded on any account nor would this fee be held in reserve for future exam/ section.

SC/ST and PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.
