Eligible Criteria for TNPSC Chemist Recruitment 2015

Age Limit: (as on 01.07.2015)
1. Category of Candidates: SCs- SC(A)s- STs- MBCs/DCS- BCs- BCMs and DWs of all Castes minimum age Should have completed 18 Years and no Maximum age limit.
2. Category of Candidates: “Others” [i.e. Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs and BCMs] Castes minimum age should have completed 18 years and Maximum age limit 30 Years should not have completed.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should process a First or Second Class Degree in M.Sc. in Chemistry or Chemical Technology or Industrial Chemistry or Associateship Diploma of the Institute of Chemist (India) obtained by Examination or its equivalent qualification award by any University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grant on the date of this Notification Viz. 06.02.2015

Experience:

  • Experience in research in pure or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry for a period of not period of not less than 2 Years.
  • Examination fee Rs. 150/- (Examination Fee Rs.100/- + Cost of Application Rs.50/-)(Rupees One Hundred and Fifty only)
  • Candidates claiming exemption from examination fee should pay Rs.50/- towards Application Cost. (No exemption for cost of application)
  • Candidates have also to pay the service charges applicable to the Bank or Post Office or Fee Processing Agency.
  • Candidates can avail the facility of one time Registration on payment of Rs.50/- towards Registration fee. The
  • registration shall be valid for a period of Five years from the date of one time registration.
  • Payment of fee other than on-line payment / off-line payment viz, in the form of DD / Postal Order etc./ will not be accepted and the fee will not ordinarily be refunded. The application forwarded with such modes of payment will be summarily rejected.

1. Paper -I (Optional Subject): 26.04.2015 FN 10.00 A.M. to 01.00 P.M.
2. Paper -II (General Studies): 26.04.2015 AN 02.30 P.M. to 04.30 P.M.

Selection Process: The candidates will be selected through written test and oral Interview. The short listed candidates from the written test will be called for an oral interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the aggregate marks secured by the candidates in both written test and oral interview. The written test will be of 570 marks and questions will be on the following subject:-

  • Paper-I: (200 questions) Any one of the following subject in P.G. Degree Standard:-
    1. Chemical Technology
    2. Chemistry
    3. Industrial Chemistry.
    Duration: 3 hours
    Maximum Marks: 30
  • Paper-II(100 questions) General Studies (Degree Standard)
    Duration: 2 hours
    Maximum Marks: 200
    Interview and Record: 70 marks
    Minimum Qualifying Marks for selection: SCS,SC(A)s,STs, etc castes candidates 171 and Other 228
